Introduction to Fuyang Insititute of Technology

Fuyang Insititute of Technology is a full-time public institution of higher learning run by Fuyang Municipal People's Government. The school was founded in 1956. It became the first batch of education colleges of the Ministry of Education in 1984, began to run higher vocational education in 1998, and was renamed Fuyang Insititute of Technology in 2001. Aligning with local characteristic industries, the school has determined the orientation of "agronomy as the basis, engineering as the backbone, multi-disciplinary and multi-professional coordinated development". At present, the school is a national key higher vocational college, a pilot unit of modern apprenticeship system and "1+X" certificate system, the first batch of demonstration schools in Anhui Province, a benchmark school for the development of higher vocational education, a typical demonstration school for school-enterprise cooperation, a construction unit of high-level higher vocational schools in Anhui Province, and a pilot university for the comprehensive reform of "The Three Wides Education Model".

The school is located by the beautiful Qiyu River, near Fuyang High-speed Railway Station and Airport. With beautiful environment and convenient transportation, it covers an area of  854,000㎡, with a total school building area of 495,000 ㎡. It has 6 teaching units, namely the College of Urban and Rural Construction (Rural Revitalization College), College of Information and Intelligent Manufacturing (Sergeant College), College of Economics and Management, College of Health Care, College of Medicine, College of Preschool Education, College of Public Basic Education and College of Marxism. There are 791 faculty members, including 653 full-time teachers. Among them, there are 42 teachers with senior titles, 163 teachers with deputy senior titles and 431 teachers with "double-qualified" teachers in higher vocational colleges.

The school has a total of 40 majors, covering 14 major categories, including finance and trade, electronics and information, transportation, education and sports, tourism, energy, power and materials, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, light industry and textile, biology and chemical industry, food, medicine and grain, civil construction, culture and art, medicine and health, equipment manufacturing, and 9 professional groups. There are 7 national key majors and backbone majors, 14 provincial demonstration majors, characteristic majors and comprehensive reform pilot majors, and 1 national modern apprenticeship pilot major. The above figures shows that the level of personnel training and the ability of service industry development in the school have been significantly enhanced, and the conformity between school-running orientation and social needs has been significantly improved.

In the past five years, teachers of the school have published about 809 papers of various kinds, published and participated in the publication of 111 teaching materials and monographs. They have obtained 180 provincial quality projects, 196 school-level quality projects, 124 provincial-level scientific research projects, 78 school-level scientific research projects. 6 inventions and 113 utility model patents have been granted. The college has won 2 provincial teaching achievement special prizes, 4 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 7 third prizes. Teachers and students have won 4 international awards in various skills competitions, including 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 1 third prize. There are 208 national awards, including 41 first prizes, 94 second prizes and 73 third prizes. There are 700 provincial awards, including 110 first prizes, 233 second prizes and 357 third prizes.

The school has established 6 industrial colleges with leading enterprises such as Qi'anxin, and has been granted one provincial modern industrial college.It has taken the lead in establishing the National BIM Technology Application Industry-education Integration Community, Fuyang Automobile Industry-education Consortium, and 5 provincial-level county industry-education integration bodies in fields such as UAV, elderly health care, logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and green food. The Fuyang Vocational Education Group led by the college has been rated as a provincial demonstration vocational education group. Through school-enterprise cooperation, 26 provincial-level industry-education integration training bases and practice centers have been built, and 1 national-level productive training base has been approved.

The college has jointly built 2 ministerial-level collaborative innovation centers for BIM technology and brewing technology with enterprises, 2 department-level collaborative innovation centers and collaborative technology service centers for 3D printing technology and edible fungus technology. It has established 8 school-level scientific research platforms such as the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Research Center and the Network Security Collaborative Innovation Center. It has jointly built the Northwest Anhui Biological Seed Industry Technology Innovation Research Center with enterprises, and has been approved as a provincial post-doctoral research workstation and selected as a provincial science and technology commissioner workstation.

The school explored the construction of Wangjiaba spiritual education system, implemented the "morning and evening" education mechanism, and successfully passed the acceptance as a provincial "The Three Wides Education Model" comprehensive reform pilot university. The school has been rated as the advanced collective on employment work for graduates of colleges and universities in Anhui Province, the first batch of designated training institutions for entrepreneurship training in the province, the provincial practice base for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students, the key Marxist College of Anhui Province, the base for the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture in Anhui Province. The "Integration of Youth and the Elderly, Happy Learning and Fulfillment" project has been rated as a "lifelong learning brand" in Fuyang City.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the college will always adhere to morality education as the fundamental task, employment promotion as the orientation, and serving society as the purpose. It will fully implement the spirit of the national and provincial vocational education conferences, actively adapt to the construction of Anhui Province's "three regions and one zone" and the high-quality development of industries in accordance with the reform and development orientation of vocational education in the new era. With the construction of the internal quality assurance system, "double bases" construction, and the "quality improvement and excellence cultivation" action plan as the starting points, it will benchmark against the "double high-level" construction and the standards for setting up vocational undergraduate schools, strengthen the connotative development of the college, improve school-running conditions, enhance school-running level, and strive to build the college into a vocational school with strong comprehensive strength and distinctive characteristics, achieving new breakthroughs in being selected as a national "double high-level plan" construction unit and the establishment of undergraduate-level vocational schools.
